i need a sound card with optical output for 5.1 receiver.i prefer music n 5.1 movies thru receiver.i got an answer for this that either dg/ dgx.i had an doubt,that wil there be any difference to higher sound cards like essence stx?bass effect n crisp sound?

Does your motherboard not have optical out?
If not, buy the cheapest sound card with optical out you can find. There will be absolutely NO reason to buy more expensive sound cards if you're using optical - as I'm sure the person who recommended the DG told you, optical is a direct passthrough, and it's your receiver that's doing the decoding - the sound card will not even touch the data it's sending out.
