Curious about AMD Opteron

I'm curious as to how these would compare to a Xeon in a home computer. I'm not looking into either for that purpose because I already have an i7, but I'm wondering how an Opteron, such as the 6320, would perform in a desktop scenario.

It would work but it's not ideal. Home computers do not tend to use many cores, while that's really ALL an Opteron has. The reason a Xeon works as well as it does for office work and gaming is because it has less, more powerful cores that can actually be utilized.
