My immeadiate first thought was z87 mobo aftermarket cpu cooler and over clock.

What do you want though exactly? More power? More FPS? Im just not sure what your looking to get with your 200.

My PSU is a antec 750 watt. I am looking to get more fps or just have a better running system. Planning to buy a 780 in a month.

No reason to upgrade a PSU for a single 30watts.

All you really have to do is what I said above. With just 200 dollars you cant upgrade the GPU or CPU.

No you dont need to. The large price for the i7 wouldnt make a big enough difference.

I'd spend the $200 on a great SSD. Won't improve gaming much, but overall system performance would be a lot better. Realistically, the CPU you have is great and an upgrade wouldn't be noticeable in gaming. Gaming performance would be best improved with another 660ti, which is about $200, $210 at newegg right now.

Dont do that lol. the performance would be barely upgraded. Hardly any games support SLI. Now if you want to run5-6 screens though go for it :p

Toms disagrees with you, and so do I. The 660ti review showed significant improvement with SLI

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-660-ti-...

"Of the seven games tested, one doesn't seem to work with CrossFire at all. All seven support SLI."

it depends what type of games you play with overclocking, i know that from 3.4 ghz to 4.4 ghz on my 3570k there is a huge difference on wow which is a cpu only game and a fairly good improvement on bf4 but some games benefit mostly from the GPU and having SLI if it is supported will yield a huge frame difference however you say you are going to buy a 780 so I would go with heroesneverquit and get a decent mobo and cooler as this will benefit you the most if you get your 780

Is my mobo not that good for gaming? MSI GD55 z77a 1155 socket

z77 is just the old chipset. Z87 just so happens to be the newer chipset which is why I brought it up.

As far as sli vs crossfire I might have been confused a bit. For some reason I was thinking that most games supported crossfire and non supported SLI :p

My bad
