I have an HP Envy notebook with Windows 8.1 and I have tried to connect my Lexmark X215 using the hints in the thread above (ie XP/Vista driver installed in compatibility mode).
However I get the message:
Printer driver was not installed.
The hash for the file is not present in the specified catalog file. The file is likely corrupt or the victim of tampering.
Can anyone shed light on the message and tell me whether I will be able to connect directly (via USB port on notebook) ? In worst case I thought of networking through the old Vista machine (print server).
