Damaged GPU or Mobo or Both? Help me troubleshoot!

I recently shipped a supercomputer I built to my partner and FedEx really sent it on a rough journey. Despite everything being secure when it arrived one of the heatsink fans was thrown about (not a big deal) but the graphics card was hit so hard that it was on an angle/lean when it arrived and the PCI Lane 1 slot it was in was slightly bent. Needless to say this is very frustrating as it took a long time to build it and the board was a brand spanking new Rampage IV Black Edition.

Everything works fine except for the fact that my monitor cannot detect a video signal despite moving the GPU into all 3 other slots on the board. The electronic contacts that slide into the slot are fine upon visual inspection and I am worried my motherboard may have been irreparably damaged.

What is the best way to go about resolving this in a timely manner? If the first PCI lane is damaged does that destroy the information path for all the other lanes?

Lessons Learned:

1. Send GPU separately if possible.
2. Place rig flat on its back with motherboard down and place stickers that say This Side Up instead of in its normal upright position.

No access to one atm but I plan on taking the GPU to microcenter for them to test it. The fans turns on it so I know it's not dead but I was hoping to get some additional insight into what I may be facing here and the odds of the mobo being damaged.

The motherboard is posting error code 34 which it always has which is just a fan speed error and I had that same error before this all happened which suggests that the mobo is fine because if it didn't work or something was faulty it would probably have a code for it..
