i have onkyo 5.1 receiver.i need to know will thr b any difference when compared to onboard sound???????????

I will assume you use the PC for the THPC by connecting the PC to the onkyo through HDMI. Then you don't use the any soundcard because the digital signal (audio and video) goes through the HDMI ( on the GPU HDMI port) to the receiver and the receiver will process the audio signal and output to the speakers or video signal to the TV. So the sound will depend on the receiver/speakers you have.
