Hello everyone,

I am asking myself the question in the title. I bought a PS4 on release day and I have played like a season of Madden. I tried out NBA 2K14, but wound up selling it because I did not like the "new" features. I had Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, but did not even take it out of the wrapper. I took it back and got the PC version of it. That's it. That is all that I have played around with it.

I just purchased a new GPU (Gigabyte 780 Ghz Ed). While I was playing on the PC the other day, I was thinking that I could sell my PS4 and Vita and get a second GPU to SLI the two. I don't know, though.

I posted this here because I figure most of you here have a pretty good opinion about the PS4 and its future, and because I did not know where else to post it :^p. I know that is personal preference and ultimately up to me, but I just wanted some input.

I am looking forward to your input and thank you in advance for your advice and suggestions.

SLI will be pretty pointless unless you have multiple monitors. Your single 780 is able to pretty much max out on any current games right now so you're fine. If anything, I would save money and grab a better single gpu in the future. Sell your PS4 if you want. Why need a PS4, when you have a pc rig with a 780?

Well that would in my opinion depend on how your system is performing on the single GTX 780 and what resolution you game at. If you are gaming on only a single 1080p monitor I do not think you really would benefit from SLI much as the GTX 780 can run most any game max/full on a single card. If you are or planning a Surround setup then yes by all means sell them and get a second card. But make sure that your PSU can handle a SLI setup.

I did not get a PS4 only because as I understand it Sony left out DLNA support and that was really the only thing I use my PS3 for. I use PS3 Media Server to play all of my blu-ray rips.

I would sell it in a heart beat, but I wouldn't have bought it in the first place and spent the money on my PC anyways.

You should make sure your PSU can handle the 2 780s before you do the upgrade though. Going to need 860w or greater PSU if you want room to overclock.

I'd do it for sure 8D

I faced a similar issue a while back. Buy PS4 or sink that money into my rig. I chose the latter and I am happy with my decision. I think that PC gaming is coming into a rennisance, yet again. With nvidias/steam os streaming service coming out soon you will be able to have your one rig stream anywhere.

I also think that this gens console specific APIs are in their infancy and we don't know what we are going to get. The only thing I may miss is the exclusives. Last of us is still one of my favorite games of all time, I still have a PS3 so hopefully the newer ps4 exclusive titles will be supported for a little while

Yeah, it is a toughy. I have an i7 3770k, 8GB Ares RAM, Corsair AX850 and a Gigabyte z77-UD4H. I don't want to overclock or anything. I just want ta smooth experience and to play at whatever settings that I want. I only have a 1290x1080 monitor right now, but I plan on getting a 1440p monitor eventually, although I do not know when.

I really think that the only games that I would be playing would be exclusives and any sports games that do not release to the PC...ahem...Madden.

I know little about console gaming.

I really don't think that sli GTX780 is a great upgrade if you are gaming on a single monitor. Triple monitors or a 4k monitor, then yes.

What is the rest of your rig?

Perhaps upgrading to a 27" 2560 x 1440 monitor might be more appealing.

Update...

You have a 3770K that is designed for overclocking.
Learn a bit about that and you should easily get a 25% boost in cpu capability.

Running at 1290 x 1080 is no stress whatever for your graphics card.

I would seriously look at a Qnix 1440P monitor. they have nice reviews on newegg.

This is pretty much what I am going through right now. I have a PS3 and the only things that I can remember play exclusively are GTA, Madden and maybe some golf, but that is really it. I am the only one in my circle of friends and family that PC games. I bought the consoles to play with them, but that rarely happens on the PS3 anymore and no one plans on getting a PS4 anytime soon.

In that case, it is tough but currently you have a card that can play everything at max for your setup. Maybe hold on to it and see how it goes (Uncharted 4, infamous, and the order look like they'll be great but UC is a ways away).
If you find yourself bumping up your res maybe then reassess the situation

That is the monitor is was looking at, actually. I figured that I would be able to get that monitor and the 2nd GPU if I sold my PS4, PS3 and the Vita.

I am not too experienced in overclocking, so I am a but weary about doing that to anything.

Yeah, I am definitely thinking about upgrading my monitor. It does suck because they make some pretty great games.

Man, what a decision!

Edit: I put my rig in my sig.
