AMD CPU Upgrade

Hello, I am thinking of getting the AMD FX 6300 since the highest wattage my motherboard can get up to is 95 watts. I am right now using an FX 4300 and a EVGA GTX 760 GDDR5 with 16 GB of 1600MHz memory. I have been noticing I have been lagging in games such as Far Cry 3 and games that use alot of resources. I am pretty sure it is the CPU that is causing this bottleneck. I also sometimes record games with fraps.

Any other AMD CPUs that are the best for the system I have?

Have you maybe tried playing with the games settings?
Because it really doesn't seem like you should be lagging unless you are using unreasonable settings ingame.

You won't get much of a performance increase from an FX 6300. As James suggested above, try tinkering with the settings - ensure you have vsync and AA/AF turned off.

What motherboard do you have? You may be needing a mobo upgrade. A FX 4300 + GTX760 can do great things on a good mobo.

Also, what power supply are you using?

GA-78LMT-S2 (Socket M2), and a 750 watt PSU, unfortunately, my budget is only $320

You should upgrade your motherboard so you can get better processors. If your budget is $320. You could get fx 8350 $199.99 + $100 am3+ motherboard of your liking. ( or a cheaper one if you want )

It looks like your motherboard is your weakest link unless you have a super cheap power supply. Look into getting a 990FX motherboard and a good cooler for your FX 4300. You could even add a FX 6300 or FX 8320 also for $320.

Agreed on this one I have a 660 and a 8350 and I can play games on Ultra with miniscule to no lag. That includes BF4.

You need to use the Permalink or Text functions on pcpartpicker to link the build properly, since /partlist is different for everyone.

If you live near a Microcenter... the FX 8320 is only $99.99 then purchase a decent motherboard.

Yes all is compatible but you need to upgrade that TX3 to a 212 Evo. It would be $10 well spent.
