I recently bought an LG monitor, whic has a reolution of 1366x768 to run with another monitor whose resolution is 1920x1080.
As you might guess, they don't work well together, but I found a video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Qa6mR3s-kc that kind of overclocks your monitor. I tried it and got a good resolution.

My question will be whether this will affect my monitor or graphics card (gtx 770) bad or not?
Also, if you've tried something like this, did you experience any problems in long term?
Thanks.

You cannot overclock resolution, as it is the physical limit of pixels in the screen. what you are likely doing is downscaling which is meh..

you CAN however overclock refresh rate but this can be hazardous for your monitor.

there shouldnt be any problems long term, but with resolution scaling you will take a performance hit in gaming
