I am currently running it at 4.00 GHz(standard is 3.5), but I want to oc some more. I have only been using the bios to overclock so far, and I haven't done anything to the voltage. I have also turned off AMD overdrive and the turbo-boost-something in bios. As I am worried about frying the cpu, it would be great with some advice on how to proceed.
Motherboard is Gigabyte 970A-UD3P

Solution
This is not cause for concern, as the actual cores are located closer to the center underneath the heatspreader of the cpu,

also i'd actually turn turbo back on, as it may help save some power by not running at full speed when not necessary

Oh really.. Well ok, I'll leave it at 4.0 then. And do you reckon I should leave the Turbo off? And while I'm at it, there is a small gap of 1-1,5 mm on one of the sides where the heatsink isn't covering the cpu, is this any cause for concern?
