Hi guys, im new to the forum, i was building a budget gaming Rig,
i am looking to buy ASUS Z87-C LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
and install Gigabyte Radeon R9 270X 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 GPU
in the future i plan to Buy another R9 270X for cross fire,

the Question is the board has only 1 pci express 3 slot which will house the primary GPU, so
where will i (or can i) install the secondary R9 270x for the crossfire setup ? do i have to install the second GPU in pci express 2 slot ? and if so then will it effect the performance..

More about : asus z87 motherboard crossfire pci express x16

You can only do Crossfire with that board, but it is doable. Just put the second one in the PCIe 2.0 slot. Will run just fine. The 270x isn't really powerful enough to be bottlenecked by the x4 bandwidth too badly.

PCie 3.0 is capable of delivering twice the bandwidth of PCIe 2.0. It's all marketing though, as even the high end cards today can't take advantage of PCIe 2.0 yet lol

And that's a fine board, I wouldn't worry about it :)
