Asus Xonar DG help!

I ordered an Asus Xonar DG a few weeks back to improve my the audio of my computer. This was my first computer build, and I've had it for a few months now. I thought installing a sound card would be just as easy as putting it in the MB, and plugging in the speakers to the card. After many hours of frustration, I flat out gave up. I really now want to make it work - Can someone give me directions?

I feel we lack a bit of description here. First off; have you installed the correct drivers?
Secondly... I don't have a sound card myself, so I don't really know much about it. But yes, I'd figure it be nothing more than just plug and play (+ the drivers).
http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=Xonar+DG&os=30 - these would be the correct audio drivers, and just pick the WHQL certified one, so you're sure not to encounter any bugs because of a beta driver. :)
