I am extremely frustrated, when I turn on my computer I enter my password, right? ok when I step away from my computer for 3, 5 min. I have to sign in again? I dont understand! This just started yesterday, what is the problem? I use firefox and I have hp all in one computer.

Check your screen saver and power saving settings. If the screen saver starts or the monitor goes into standby or sleep mode, it will usually require your password again when you get back, but you can set those to wait longer before activating.

Go into Control Panel, then go into Power Options. Whatever "plan" you are running in Power Options, Balanced, Power Saver, click the "Change Plan Settings" of that plan and tell it when to turn off the display (if ever) and when to put the computer to sleep (if ever).

When in the "Change Settings for the Plan" screen, click on the "Change Advanced Power Settings" link, it should be in blue. A new window will open, called "Advanced Settings", and in this window the first item will be "Require a password on wakeup". Change the setting to "No". If it is not clickable you will first have to click on the link "Change settings that are currently unavailable", then you will be able to change the password setting.

If you didn't see the Power Options, then what did you see? If you did not see about 25 icons, then you your Control Panel is in "Category" view. You need to click the link at the upper right corner of Control Panel called "View by", and in the drop-down box select "small icons" or "large icons", it doesn't matter which. Once you've done this you will see the icon for "Power Options" and then you can follow my directions above.

OK, then obviously you do not see about 25 icons. So do what I told you to do. Change the View to "icons". The instructions are up above. Once you do that you will see the icon for Power Options and you can follow my instructions to remove the password requirement once the screen saver engages. Or don't. It's up to you.
