hello there
i am writing this from a laptop with a broken shift-key, sorry for lack of capitals/correct punctuation.
i recently moved my desktop pc and now it will not turn on, it gets as far as the windows starting screen on windows 7 then the screen goes black, but the computer stays on, i am confident that it is not display issues as no startup sound is played after it goes black and the keyboard stops working, also i have tried with 4 different monitors, nothing about my hardware has changed, i am using the same monitors microphone keyboard mouse and speakers, nothing should be different but it will not go past the starting windows screen.
when booting up i now get a message that says windows has not started properly asking whether to run system repair, system repair gives error messages and does nothing, i can go to advanced options from there but not with f8 and system restore also gives an error, i can find these errors and give them here if you need them. i have also tried installing windows 7 again to a different hdd that i have but after installing it will not boot from it, i get an error asking me to repair it from the installation disk and then it takes me back to os select, my next step will be to create a live linux disk and i will post results, if this doesn't work i will remove the hdd that wont boot and see if the second will work, if it doesn't boot i'll assume hardware issues not software, but what component would need replacing -question mark-
