with 2x 6pin plugs from my PSU?
the EVGA gtx 760 i have now works fine with these two 6 pin plugs on my psu so i was hoping the 780 would work the same.

  1. You need 6-pin and 8-pin connectors...

    What model is the PSU?
  2. What PSU model do you have?
  3. I honestly dont know the model all i know is that it is a 750 watt. My tower was a build done for me by a friend and he used a PSU he had lying around as a spare. it is a good PSU since he never buys junk. But it only has 6 pin plugs.
the GTX 760 work great with it and that is a 6+8 pin GPU right?

I think so. This eVGA GTX 760 does have 6-pin + 8-pin indeed.

You'll be OK. At worst you can use adapters that come with the graphics card, but I don't think it will be necessary.
  5. I forgot to mention: 750W is plenty for the new card. Just don't try TWO new GTX 780 cards with it, it won't handle that much.
