Hey all! Been surfing this page for a long time but this is my first time posting. Glad to be here!
So let's get down to business, I've got a problem that is really wracking my brain here.
It started one morning when I woke up and smelled a faint burning smell (burning plastic). I didn't think much of it because it was so faint. I go to the office as I am about to leave and notice my wife's computer is not working, I also notice that this is where the burning smell is coming from.
Installed is:
MSI A75A - G35

Start to troubleshoot to see whats going on (unplug, plug back in, flip the switch, opened up the case (which was just cleaned out a little over a month ago)) and all I get is the fans spinning, all the LEDs come on, but no POST sound and nothing on the monitor. I come back that night and try to boot it up with just the CPU, RAM, and a flashdrive with the updated BIOS on it, same thing. So I figure since everything is coming on it must be the MOBO.
I order a new MOBO (GIGABYTE GA-A55M-DS2 FM1 AMD A55) and install that. Now the weirdest thing happens. When it powers up the LED in the PS blinks rapidly along with the power LED on the front of the case. What on earth could this be? Bad PS maybe, if that is the case why is it doing two radically different things with each MOBO? I'm stuck here and really don't want to buy a new PS along with a new MOBO if that isn't even going to fix the problem.
