Does anyone know when the next set of graphics card will be released? This R9 R7 R5 bs is annoying, I want something new. Anyone?

so you don't want the cards just released because of the naming convention? There's no guaranty the next cards won't have names you don't like LOL!

They took the old cards and made slight changes in performance, and gave them new names. That's what bugs me. I want something new and exciting! So seriously, when will they come out?

Your question has been answered, they will be released sometime in the unforeseeable future. As well as the refreshes both companies have been doing that as of late. GTX 770 is the old 680, the new cards being 780/Titan/780Ti for the AMD side the 280x is the old 7970, but both of the flagship cards from AMD are new, the 290 and the 290x.

Hawaii is the latest and greatest and still being rolled out. It will be a long, long haul before the next generation is released. Expect a couple years, maybe some time in 2015 at the earliest. No doubt there will be a refresh/rebranding of the current lineup sometime before the fall/winter holiday season.

yup their quite rename (or tweak a bit) the 7k series part to the new R series. only the hawaii parts are truly new. originally AMD and nvidia were expected to get their new line up around this quarter using TSMC 20nm. but when AMD announcing hawaii in september i think the next gen gpu (based 20nm one) will not going to come sooner. heard that TSMC 20nm process node that usually used by gpu won't be ready until second part of this year so i think we can only expect this year Q3 at the earliest for 20nm gpu

OIC, I thought it was the name! I was only joking LOL. Yeah I have the 7950 which hasn't been rebranded yet. It would be interesting to know if they are going to bring out anything (actually) new other than R9 in the mid-high end.

I guess Nvidia did the same thing with the 7xx and now around a year later, there will be Maxwell, but who knows when it'll be on a smaller die, maybe mid year. So perhaps around the end of the year AMD will release something more cards based on Hawaii, on a smaller die, but it's only a guess.
