Fan connectors on LGA 1150 MOBO

I'm replacing my FX-8150 and 990FXA-ud3 mobo with an I7-4771 and an ASUS H81M-E and I just realized that the H81M-E has no 3 pin fan connectors on it. every fan in my case uses a 3 pin connector and I need all of them to be functional. there is only one fan connector on the entire MOBO and it's labelled CHAM - FAN and it's 4 pin. there are only 3 connectors that would fit the fans I have and they're all labelled as USB.

I wouldn't even call myself a novice with this stuff so I have no idea if these connectors would would work or not.

any insight on this would be great

The MB has a single fan header (other than the CPU fan header of course). It's labeled CHA_FAN and it next to the battery.
It is four pin but you can plug...
I'm sure it's because you bought a micro-ATX board which is a smaller form factor and obviously something had to go (and it was fan headers).

You can buy molex-to-3 pin adapters for your PSU that will allow you to run the fans straight from the PSU. And you can still plug a 3 pin fan into a 4 pin slot, you just won't have control over the fan.

It is four pin but you can plug your three pin fan in just fine. ASUS boards don't use the fourth pin on the case fan headers anyway (or to be more precise, it sends a "full" signal on the PWM line and then controls the fans via voltage like a 3 pin header does) so your fan will behave exactly like it would if it were plugged into a three pin header.

or as I have done, get a cheap adapter that plugs into the mobo and molex to allow 4 fans for each mobo connector. Takes power from the molex and speed control from the mobo. One fan can also have it's speed sensor fed back into the mobo. So when my CPU starts to warm up and the CPU fan increased speed, so do some of the case fans.

He said he has three pin fans. Three pin fans are regulated by voltage control and therefore must get their voltage directly from the MB; if they are fed from molex from the PSU they will run at full speed since they will be getting full 12 volts from the molex.

Why do you need all the fans running with a micro atx mobo. Your not OC'ing the proc so heat shouldn't be an issue but your options are getting a controller or using molex to 3 pin adapters which will cause the fans to always run at full speed and max rpm's.

If you connect them the way I suggested, they will run at whatever speed you tell them to run at (or rather the MB tells them to run at) or if you decide to use the ASUS software, they will adjust based on temperature.
If you attach them with molex directly to the PSU, they will run at full speed at all times.

that'll only give me one fan and I already have overheating issues with 3 fans on

I'm not overclocking but I do have heating issues because of the setup of my room and I can't afford to replace the stock cooler with something better.

Get a fan splitter. The header is rated for 1amp (12 watts).
