m.2 "Caching SSD" as primary drive?

I have been off-the-grid on technology for a while, so I only very recently found out about the gem of an interface called m.2.

I have a laptop, a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E531, with an empty m.2 slot that can fit a 42x22mm drive. I plan on placing MyDigitalSSD's SuperCache 2 42mm SATA III m.2 SSD (128GB) in there as a primary drive, to both lighten the load and have the option of wielding dual drives, but apparently caching-drives aren't recommended to be used as a primary drive (OS + some data)? Why is this?

I'd be happy if the answer is as simple as that, but I'm just waiting for more confirmation.

I bought (ordered) a 2.5" SSD prior to knowing about m.2 so now I'm on crunch time on the return policy :(. Sure, I could stick with the 2.5" SSD I'd already bought, but if I want to use the HDD, I'd have to swap it with the SSD or carry an external HDD enclosure. I'd greatly prefer not to deal with the hassle of swapping hard drives and setting up the external HDD, as I've been doing thus far.

To further clarify my question: using an m.2 SSD to house my operating system, run some office applications/multimedia applications, and store some data should be all good right? M.2 interface is just a miniaturized SATA interface and has no special restrictions to be aware of? I.E., it's not like doing the above but on RAM modules?
