CPU Temp too high

Hi,

I recently bought a corsair h80i to help with my cpu cooling but so far I've been struggling to have good results. This is with stock speeds, nothing modified. I just reseated my cooler for the 3rd time and I still get high temps, i.e. getting 88, 84, 79 and 73 while running cinebench. At those temps I don't wanna even try prime95. The first time I installed it was my first time ever installing one so I was clumsy but temps were not bad. I was getting 80 degrees max with prime95 but I knew it could do much more. I reseated it using X shape method for applying thermal paste. I used Arctic Silver 5. I got even higher temps and suspected I've put too much paste, which I did. So i reseated it this time using the pea method. I didn't use too much like suggested everywhere and I think I did a good on that one. Now everytime I reseated I made sure to wash it with Arctic Silver 2 steps remover. I know it takes time to cure with the paste but those temps aren't going to come down by a lot even after curing. Am I doing something wrong or is the cooler faulty? Oh and room temps is at 19 degrees. All temps are in celsius.

My current config is:

4770k
Maximus VI Hero
NF-F12 fans for push-pull.

Thanks.

It's the CPU construction. Intel no longer solders, starting with Ivy Bridge they switched to a cheap thermal paste. If you have the "guts", take a razer blade and cut the IHS off your CPU and replace the crappy bulk paste with something good. And not AS5, that formula is old. No one knowledgeable has used that stuff for years. And Tom's tested all the pastes not long ago.

Plus ppl that have wiped the factory applied paste off their cooler (H80/100),... regretted it.

I'm not too sure about deliding my cpu, and I don't have a spare one to practice first. I do find it odd that the very first time I mounted it, despite my clumsiness it was only reaching an 80 degrees max with prime95. So I'm wondering why can't I re-achieve that.
