I have a strange situation with my pc that I have never encountered before where it will randomly lock up. Some times I am able to get it to respond by inserting (yes inserting) a usb drive but at other times I have to completely power down my system. I have been trying to troubleshoot the lock up in the couple months that I have had the system and I am at my wits-end.
Things I have tried include; swapping HDDs, reformatting, swapping ram, Bios flashing, updating drivers, and complete removal and re-seat of my cpu and water cooler.
System specs:
Windows 7 x64 bit
64GB SSD
320GB HDD
4TB HDD
1 x 8GB GSkill 1866
Cooler Master V100 psu
Asus Sabertooth 990FX r2.0
AMD FX-9590
AMD HD 7950
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have said, I am at my wits-end and do not know how I should proceed.
edit: In a recent HDD swap and format, the lockups don't happen as frequently, but they are still there. I am considering changing OS to see if that solves the problem. I honestly can't remember, but I believe I started out with Win8 and was having the same issue.
edit 2: It seems that the minor lockups were just a strange fluke where as the full system lockups are still happening randomly. I am planing on picking up a nic tomorrow to see if the network card is the culprit. My laptop, note 3, and the roomies pc have no issues with net access. My pc however, seems to lag during streaming or net access games, so I hope there is a correlation between the two as that would be a divinely simple fix.
