Hi,

I received 9 separate windows 7 professional DVD's last year for installation on the 9 newly bought computers in my department. Each DVD had a separate key. i Installed a separate copy of windows on each pc and registered them online. I also have 2 older PC's and a laptop with pirated versions of windows is installed.

Moreover, one of the 9 PC's on which an original is installed has now developed issues, i.e. random hangups, slow performance etc.

My questions are;

Can i use one DVD to install and register windows on multiple systems. For e.g on the 3 systems running pirated versions?

Can i use them same DVD from which i installed win on problematic PC to re install windows without issue and will it register online?

I would greatly appreciate your help.

Thankyou.

Each legal DVD you have provides you with one license. Since you have nine legal copies of Windows 7, you can only install Windows onto nine different computers; one license per computer at a time. Since these are likely Enterprise editions, you're likely able to reuse the license over and over (not familiar with the Enterprise license agreement), but again, only on one computer at a time.

Concerning your problem PC, you can re-install Windows onto that PC, provided that you have an available license for it (i.e. Windows in only installed on eight other computers).

For the record, Tom's Hardware does not support in any fashion Software Piracy. Any comments pertaining to pirated software will be frowned upon.

You can use one single DVD to install the OS onto all of your systems, but each system must have its own legal activation key. If you only have nine licenses for Windows 7, you may only install it onto nine separate systems.

Why is that?? Those systems were given to me by company as is to run. I cannot buy original from my own pocket. is it against forum rules to ask questions abt pirated software on this site. if so my bad.
