I am trying to install a new video card.

My current system is:

win7
Intel Core i5-2400 CPU
4gig ram
550w PSU
MB: MSI h61m p23 (b3)
http://au.msi.com/product/mb/H61M-P23--B3-.html
AOC monitor

it is currently running on the integrated graphics on the MB.

when I install the new card which is a: GIGABYTE AMD Radeon R7 250 OC 1GB GDDR5

and turn the pc back on it does not pass post, there are no beeps.

When I take the card back out and turn it on, the PC starts up correctly.

Any ideas why this is happening please?

thats not a good quality psu.. If i could i would check with another good quality psu if available. Most probably your powersupply is not powerful enough to power your system, but considering thats a very low wattage gpu, I would still check it with another good quality psu if the problem still persists or not. I think a good quality psu would solve the problem.
