i7 4670K and a R9 270X should be able to smash the game on max settings if the game won't have any stupid performance&optimisation issues. The game is using Hero Engine which is simply the worst game engine out there imo (remember SWTOR). But they said they deeply modified it. Hope they modified it well.

It wasn't a very bad game (unless you don't compare it with Star Wars: Galaxies) but the resource management of the engine is just horrid. Have you seen Ilum's mass pvp area? They had to remove it after a while since the engine and the net code couldn't handle it. It was totally unplayable. Also world boss areas were the same. Performance was going down dramatically. On the other hand they couldn't even implement lots of the cool stuff they advertised yet (like a capital guild ship or mass pvp battles) because of the engine limitations, instead they made a Cartel Market. :p

Another reason of that horrible resource management is that they are using 32-bit launcher and the engine doesn't support 64 bit instructions.

Actually BioWare did their best here and it's the farthest point that this engine could go. And in the context of an MMO, SWTOR was just a mediocre one. That's why Bethesda keeps saying that they heavily modified the engine. We'll see.
