Sabertooth 990FX r2.0 vs Asrock Fatal1ty killer 990FX

Hello guys,

I've read that sabertooth is better than asrock's one, but here in Spain, in the cheapest shop i can buy them, they cost 155€ the sabertooth and 125€ the asrock. I want to combinate it with 8350, for gaming.

So, should i go for the sabertooth and spend +30€ or the asrock's is enough?

There was a limited supply of Sabertooth 990FXs that had support for PCI-Express 3.0 - assuming that isn't one of them then it's your call. I have the first gen of that motherboard powering my 8150 and really like the look and the ASUS add-ins (thermal monitoring in particular) but in terms of functionality the ASrock is a fine mobo. If you do go with the ASrock, I would use that extra money for a better CPU cooler - the ones that come stock with those processors is not enough to cool that thing even if you're not overclocking. I encode video often and don't overclock and my Hyper 212 + is still having to work to keep that thing cool. I know the 8350s are slightly more efficient, but it's still worth doing.

I want to buy a h100i, i think it will work good here, specially for summer season (+35º~). I'm not yet decided because ASrock's is newer, so "maybe" it will work better, but sabertooth is an old king of am3+ so..





I don't think about gen 3, because pcie 3.0 is not really important in performance, yet.
