If you currently have a LGA 1155 MOBO then go ahead, the 3570k and the 4670k are very similar but if you are upgrading the whole system i would go with the new Haswell CPU's.

No! Get an Intel 3.6 GHz LGA 2011 i7 4960X 4th Generation Processor
I'm in love with it! :D

I5 3570k is still a worthy CPU. Just go ahead an overclock it to get more out of it. JUmping to a haswell system you wont' see any tremedous perfomance jumps (10% at most), it not worth considering all you would have to replace.

Yes it's still worth it. Like Stu 95 said, if you have a Z77 motherboard the 3570k is the way to go. I decided to go with the 3570k just to save a few bucks over the 4670k and a Z87 motherboard (also considering I was going to overclock). But if you are starting fresh, you should get the 4670k.

An i5-3570K should be a viable CPU for gaming for years.

I just bought a 3570k with a Z77 chipset and it is very worthy for use in current gen and past gen games. It was $179 at Microcenter which is a significant price savings over the Haswell while giving up only a nominal amount of performance.

Overclocked to 4.2 without touching voltage and stays plenty cool. Keeps my Crossfired 270x's running 80-100% at all times in multi-player BF4. Happy with my purchase.

4670K is also $179.99 at Microcenter. Just FYI.

Oh, ok. Didn't realize that. Suffices to say: New project? Buy Haswell. Already own IB? Get 3570k.

Looks like it says "in-store only". Microcenter rarely does shipping.
