Saves you some money for the same performance. About the PSU, are you planning on going SLI in the future? If so, keep the 850w. If not, 850w is way overkill.

What is this going to be used for? If it's gaming there is no need for the i7, you could drop that and then add a 2TB mass storage drive. As for the RAM if you're using Haswell you should definitely get DDR3-2133 or above, and you could also get a better cooler like a Noctua D14 or Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme.

Yes, gaming. The question I have is future proofing. I know there is no such thing really but would the I5 last me as long as the I7. Is one gonna become obsolete before the other? Also I have NEVER even had 1TB of info on a HDD. I would surely never use 2. I would still consider the I5 if I will get the same long term use out of it as the I7. So that is the real question I have for ya.

I will take a look at the coolers. Thanks for the advice.

There really is no such thing as future proofing. The best way to ensure that your rig will last is to upgrade and evolve as you go along. Today's graphics intensive games don't really rely on the CPU as much as they should. Sure you have Crysis and BF4 but they're very rare exceptions. For the most part you don't really need the i7 for that purpose.

The Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo is an excellent entry level cooler - it's what I use in my work PC but if you're going to be gaming, you'll benefit more from having a really fast over clock than you will with extra threads.
