I've asked for some help regarding my dual boot Win 7 system here:

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2001870/multi-boot-system-disk-boot.html

If I physically disconnect the win 7 on my 300gb disk I don't get a 'boot from' menu to boot from the second win 7 I have installed on a 320gb hdd even though that one is connected. Just noticed Windows disk management shows the 300gb disk as being the 'System,Active,Primary' disk and the 320gb disk as just Boot,Page File,Active,Crash Dump, Primary. However minitool partition wizard shows the 320gb disk as being Active & System & Primary while the 300gb as Active & Boot & Primary. How is this? Only one can be correct surely.

They are both able to be booted from due to them both having a bootable file (BootMGR in windows 7, and BOOT.ini in windows xp) aswell as both having an MBR and an OS and them both being primary partitions.

So the solution should be quite easy. Just change the MBR of your first bootable device to include the second bootable device. I suggest you use windows 7 for this as IIRC its a bit easier. You would need to use BCDedit (not sure if theres an easier option than this, but its what I use and know)

Heres a good guide for it: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2676-bcdedit-how-use.html
