I have disconnected my old HDD that has win7 on it, but when i go to install windows on to my SSD it doesnt show up when i get to this stage:

I have also tried it on a blue port.

It shows up fine on the disk management and in my computer.

It is connected the the white port on my mobo(which is a gigabyte z77-d3h.

Edited, due to poor information as i was on my phone at the time.

All help is greatly appreciated,
Cheers
Scott

reboot into the bios and make sure your sata ports are in ahci mode followed by making sure the ssd is the first in the boot order.

eject the optical drive tray and insert your windows installation disk. (skip this if using a usb drive to install windows)

shut down and make sure your ssd is plugged into sata port 0 or 1 (which are the ones closest to the big 24pin power connector from the cpu.)
Disconnect the sata data able from the hdd.
Boot up and press the function key that corresponds to the "select boot device message" you will see at the bottom of the screen.

Select the optical drive or the flash drive and press enter to begin installing windows.

Windows will not need drivers for your motherbd. I'm not sure why you are going to the load drivers screen. Drivers does not mean drives in case you weren't sure. A driver is a piece of software that allows communication to a device. Windows has your sata port drivers built in and should display the drive on the previous screen.

Select the ssd from the list of drives and select next to begin the installation.

once windows is installed you can power down and then reconnect the sata data cable to the HDD.

See for some reason, when I hit install Windows now this is the screen that appears, and a window pops up and says something about drivers... It's weird. I have tried diskpart and all.

Nope None of the above worked, I think i may need to do a secure erase.

I have taken images of my bios so mark sure its all set up right and a short video of what happens when i click install now button: http://youtu.be/kYcTerKRlKk
