Hey guys

I'm new to PC gaming and am about to build a new gaming rig with my dad.

I'm going to be using a single 23" 1080p monitor.

My dad overclocks both his CPU and GPU's and that's what I plan on having him do with my first gaming build.

Right now I'm looking at the GTX 780 Classified and the GTX 780ti Classified.

Is the regular GTX 780 Classified, when overclocked, more than enough to max out most (if not all) current and foreseeable future games in 1080p on a single monitor?

Would it be a waste and total overkill to spend the extra $200 on the Ti version?

Thanks

The 780 will be more than enough to play anything on a single monitor 1080 display. I personally think that it would be overkill to go with the Ti but that also depends on what you plan to do down the road such as going to dual display or higher monitor resolution.

I may end up getting a 1440p monitor down the road, but probably not anytime soon.

Maybe in a year or two.

My build so far so you guys can get a better idea

CPU: i5 4670k
Motherboard: Asus Z87 Plus
PSU: Corsair RM 650
RAM: 8 GB Corsair Dominator Platinum
HDD: Western Digital Black 1 TB

I shouldn't have any bottlenecking issues with the 4670k and the GTX 780, should I?

I was going to buy an i7 but from what I read, that really only makes sense if you do a lot of video editing and stuff like that. I figured the extra 1-3 FPS wasn't worth it for the extra $100 bucks.
