will the Corsair RM Series RM850 fit in the bitfenix shinobi (windowed) with a Asus Z87-PRO, Xigmatek Dark Knight SD-1283 Night Hawk Edition CPU Cooler With A GTX 780Ti

Yes, its 180mm atx psu and ANY atx psu will fit.

Bitfenix does not state any size limitations for the psu. In case the case doesnt support 180mm psu's they state itmon their site like with the prodigy. But 180mm fits in almost any mid tower.

So yes, it fits :)

I would get a more reasonable PSU for your needs. 650w would be plenty. 750w is the MAX I would even consider.

What if he wants to upgrade later? I agree its much, and he should take less if he doesnt plan an upgrade though.

Are you planning upgrades dbd?

The ONLY upgrade he could do to need more power is adding a second GPU. If he doesn't plan to do this within 6 months to a year, that PSU is a waste.
