Ok so i decided this year to make a pc build with a budget of $900 dollars. I currently have $525 bucks and my so far system plan is in the link bellow:
http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Ransacker/saved/3Aj6

but like the title says, i want to know which card would be better; the AMD 270x or Nividia gtx 760?

I would be mainly using the card to support by 3d/video editing work in blender, but also want to game like nobody's business. I willing to spend $300 hundred dollars for a card. But is mantle worth my while or not.

One thing to not the build i made included a dvd driver, but i could easily wait on it because i have an old one laying around. Also the windows 8 professional i could wait on as well because this Christmas it went for $100.

Not a fan boy, just want whats for my money. I appreciate any advice or recommendation.

More about : amd 270x mantle nividia gtx 760

The 760 is a bit faster if I'm not mistaken.

And from what I've read thus far about Mantle, is that it generally gives more of a performance boost to those with slower CPUs, eliminating the bottleneck, and pretty much bringing say a 6300 on-par with a 8320. I could be wrong though.

And if I'm also not mistaken, 3d/video editing benefits from CUDA cores, which would make Nvidia the clear choic, but again, I could be wrong.

Preliminary reports seem to suggest that if you have a strong CPU and a good GPU then Mantle will make little to no difference in overall performance.

wait a few days until full on benchmark comparisons of mantle come out and then you will be able to decide. Because as of now nobody is sure of the performance increase on different system combinations. but someone is bound to do a benchmark comparison of the R9 270x vs the GTX 760 on both and AMD processor setup and an Intel setup. should be like a week till they are out, but they are saying a little over a 40% increase in frames on average. But my tip, wait for the 800 series by nvidia to come out this year

The numbers are all over the place and they didn't even use the same map to benchmark!

Ya i'll wait. I'm only 60% there so its not like i'm going to the store tomorrow.

Lol. you're right it is weird that they didn't use the same map.... maybe their fanboys???:heink:

I hate fanboys in the regard to if a better product is out there for less money they would refuse to buy it even when the evidence is obvious.

It seems as though they went out of their way to show Mantle in the best light possible but then they were paid 8 million to do so.

Heck if i was paid 8 million to that i would. But on my youtube channel i would probably show the results more evenly.

Mantle support for the R9 270 isn't coming out for a while. Only a limited amount of GPU's are supported on release.
