Hey guys, thanks for stopping to read this urgent post. I am having a problem with laptop not detecting the new ethernet cable I got. To see if it was a problem with the cable, I got my previous one, which was replaced because it was too short, and plugged it in but it doesn't work! So my laptop doesn't detect any ethernet cables. I reinstalled all the drivers and I have no clue what is wrong with my laptop. Under adapter settings in control panel, there is a big x next to the LAN. Also, it says my laptop does not have the intel (R) adapter. My laptop is a HP Probook 4530s.

hey thanks for the reply, im downloading it right now. Also, how do i check if my network card is not disabled?
EDIT: I actually already had this installed, its one of the drivers i reinstalled.

EDIT 2: I wanted to add that when i trouble shooted the lan, it said that the ethernet cable is either defective or not plugged in. I know it isn't defective. It seems like my laptop just doesn't detect the cable at all. Also, my network card is not disabled.

Ill check out the BIOS right now. Next to the X it says Local Area Connection/Network cable unplugged/Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.
