I am trying to switch to a larger monitor from my acer ebook to view a video when i use fn key and f5 it won't work, where else can i change it

As far as I can tell, Acer doesn't make a laptop called an "ebook" (an eBook in the generic sense is data rather than hardware), so you might look again to find the correct model name/number. I don't know of an alternative to using a keyboard combination, but fn+f5 isn't always the combination to switch to an external monitor. Look at the icons on the f1-f12 keys, and those should help you figure out which one does that. If you post a photo of your laptop's keyboard, I can help you figure it out.
