I'm building a mini-ITX gaming rig using the ASRock M8 barebones kit and having some memory related problems. I have 2x 4GB sticks of Kingston HyperX RAM intalled. When I boot up, I get the message "The following Channel did not pass CPU memory test. Please remove the memory then plug again Channel A". Either stick of RAM individually works in Channel B, but if I put either in Channel A I get this error.
Googling around it seemed like a few people had this issue and resolved it by replacing the motherboard, so I RMA'ed mine. I just put everything together with the replacement and... I'm getting the exact same error. At this point it seems like it could either be an issue with the RAM, which would seem a bit strange since either works individually; or I'm incredibly unlucky and have received two motherboards with the same defect. Or I suppose it could be an issue with the CPU somehow. If anyone has any experience/guidance here, I'd greatly appreciate it. At this point I'm not really sure what I should try (replacing the motherboard again, or another component). I'm tempted to just buy one big stick of RAM and move on with my life but I would rather get to the bottom of this.
Thanks!
