Hello everyone,

Just as the question states, I own Battlefield 4, you see, and some of you are smiling and shaking your heads already if you know how terribly optimized it is. Anyway, I've been getting DirectX crashes on it since day one, and some of these crashes result in a frozen PC in which I have to reboot by pressing this little silver button on top. How bad is this for my PC? I begin to wonder since it happens 2-3 times per session. In fact just before writing this article I was actually QUITTING the game and it froze in THAT process. Anyway, I digress. Thanks for your answers in advance.

hard reset will only hurt the os on the drive if it not written to the drive before you do a reset. the only other issues is if the drive in the middle of a read or write you could cause a head crash. I would run memtest and use msi afterburner see if your gpu running hot in games...try turning the gpu fan speed up. also check your power supply if it a cheap unit or you under sized it under gaming loads it can over heat and cause your pc to lock up.

Its only on BF4 so it shouldnt be anything with hardware. Arma 2 doesnt crash and thats a little more demanding yet. But thanks for your feedback! PSU is a Cosair Enthusiast TX750 so i should be fine there.
