Normally, very little.

It will matter, if you do SLI or Crossfire (i.e. two or more graphics cards) and the MB doesn't support it properly.

With the same GPU and CPU at same clocks No. Better boards often have more features and can OC CPU's higher therefore can in directly affect performance.

with motherboards it the parts they use...the cheaper mb like msi are thinner then asus mb. also with cheaper mb the vrm used on the mb come into play. most good gaming mb have large vrms and heat sinks. lot of the cheap low end mb dont have heat sinks.

Actually, with the same GPU and CPU at same clocks, some motherboards will do better than others. The difference is very little, but it's not zero.

And of course, if you use onboard audio, you want a MB with good sounds, no clicks, etc. Another reason not to skimp on the MB...
