I went outside my room to grab something and when I came back in my computer was off for some reason and my monitor was still on. I turn my computer back on and it does one long beep followed by three short beeps which I know means there was a memory test failure in the BIOS, but I don't think there was. Everything else works fine, the light for the keyboard and mouse show up and my speaker light is on, but my computer won't connect to my monitor. The monitor just sits on sleep or switches around the VGA to DVI/monitor cable connections screen. It did this last time on Christmas Eve, so I turned it off until Christmas night and everything turned on just fine. Should I wait a day to see if everything works or should I crack open my case? I have an NVidia graphics card and a Samsung monitor.

if it a ram failure and you have two dimms pull one of them.see if one went bad. if your rig has onboard video port...plug the gpu and see if the motherboard video port working.

I just tried starting it back up again and everything went fine? I'm letting the computer go through startup repair right now to see if it can find the problem.
