I just recently (today) had a new Samsung 840 Pro 128GB put in as a boot drive, while using my old Western Digital Blue 500GB as the main storage. When I went to pick it up, the clerk said that while it was obviously faster than my HDD, it was not as fast as he had expected. So as soon as I booted up I went and did a bench test on it with CrystalDiskMark and it would appear that it is below the 'up speeds of' range by a considerable bit (less than half in some categories). I was just wondering if there is a problem with the SSD or if its being bottlenecked elsewhere. Or is this normal?
My specs are:
MSI 760GM-E51FX Motherboard
AMD FX-4300 3.8GHz CPU
MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 TI GPU
2x2GB Crucial DDR3 1333 Ram
Samsung 840 Pro 128GB SSD
Western Digital Blue 500GB
Win 7 64-bit

Well as soon as I downloaded the samsung magician software it came up with 'Your SSD will not perform at maximum performance because your system does not support a SATA 6GB/s (SATA 3) port. This would be the likely cause right?

myself i leave the system alone. I would wait on replacing the mb till the rig needs to be replaced. right now the slot that your fx cpu is using looks like amd may have killed it off per leaked slides. most of the new cpu into 2015 look to be apu on the fm2 plus mb.

I'm sorry, I'm still pretty new at all this lol. What you're saying is my CPU won't be compatible with newer mobo? Thank you for all your help too btw
