Guys,I am thinking to upgrade my gfx card but i dont know which 1 to get for 400-500 dollars.My current pc specs are

CPU=AMD FX 6100 (overclocked to 4.20Ghz)

Ram=4gb DDR3 1600mhz

Motherboard=ASUS M5A78L-M LX V2

Gfx card=Amd hd 7770 sapphire oc edition

PSU=CM Thunder 450w(this will be upgraded to the required psu for the new gfx card

Solution
for $500 you can find the 780, otherwise around $330 there is the 770. The 770 will max anything at 1080p, but might struggle 2-3 years down the road while the 780 will be 1080p proof for a long time.

The R9 290 is a bit faster than the GTX 780 on 1080p. However, due to it being used for litecoin mining, the price went a lot higher. So it's more expensive that the GTX 780 now. The R9 290 is also hotter and much noisier as compared to the GTX 780.

The 290 is by the 780, maybe slightly under it. I would go with nvidia as it is overall better. The above recommendation for the zotac amp isn't bad as that card is suppose to be one of the highest OC cards available, but I do not trust zotac as a brand. For nvidia EVGA and ASUS are my go to guys as they make extremely high quality products.

The 780 at 1080p should last 4 years at least, most likely more.

Not to worry about Zotac. I've been using that brand since the GTX 500 series. They have a really great quality. Many people think they're not as good as the others because they're seldom being used as they are a relatively new brand and their marketing is bad. As for Asus, I had to RMA an Asus motherboard once so I got a bit disappointed with that brand. As for the EVGA, I have read many great reviews from that brand so you should also consider it.

Update: My previous Zotac GTX 560 Ti AMP edition is still alive. I gave it to my cousin and he is still using it until now. He also overclocked it a lot and still works like a charm.

I don't have any personal experience with asus, but reviews about their CUII cooler are all good, plus their new republic of gaming is good stuff. As for evga I had a 460 1gb that lasted me 4 years and I was still able to sell it for my 280x.
