I'm putting together my build right now and I'm running into a small problem. My 212 Evo cooler blocks the DIMM1 slot. I only have two SIMMS, however, so can I just start at DIMM2 and go from there? Or do I need to try something else? Silly question, I know, I just can't remember from the last time I installed memory (about 7 years ago).
Does memory need to be installed in order?

You should be able to move the fan up a little on the rad (if I remember right, my current system doesn't have one). But for your ram, there is a specific slot they need to be in, and your motherboard manual will tell you which slots it is.
I didn't even think about switching the fan to the other side of the radiator. It puts it within a couple of inches of the rear fan, but it should still be fine. I'll give this a try, since I can't just rearrange the order of the DIMM slots.
