i have a r9 290 it's a great card however whilst playing battlefield 4 ultra settings (and only battlefield 4) the card runs hot. like high 80's even 90 at some stages..

idle temp is around 48-52 degrees

was wondering what a good aftermarket cooler would be for it? would that be enough to bring the temp of it down whilst playing bf4? the stock one quite frankly sounds like a 747 when at temps like that (i don't notice while playing but after i do).

cpu is fine as it liquid cooled at runs at 28 at idle and 50 or less whilst playing bf4.

probably doesn't help that's it's summer and my room gets afternoon sun but the 290 is the only thing i want to bring the temp down with..

doens't take long for the everything to go back to idle but i don't like running the card that high if i'm playing for a while.

The R9 series in particular have a SERIOUS temperature issue which will cause them to downthrottle.

wdmfighter just gave you basically the only two coolers out there which will handle that card, but you should know there are a couple other benefits.

It'll be cooler, it'll be quieter... it'll also be faster, because it won't be having to throttle itself due to heat.
