Hey guys I have a AMD 8350 with an ASUS m5a97 LE R2.0. i have the stock cpu cooler on and i know that the stock cooler is obviously not going to cut it when i want to OC. So i was wondering if you guys had any opinions on how much i could possibly OC and which coolers i should buy for cpu cooling. does water cooling come at a risk? ANY ANSWERS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED

Solution
How much of an overclock will vary from CPU to CPU. As far as aftermarket coolers, there are many out there, the best budget cooler is probably the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO (good for light to moderate oc'ing). Or if you want to spend more, again, there are many out there, with Noctua's offerings being some of the best or getting an AIO liquid cooler (such as those made by Corsair). AIO coolers ( as with any liquid cooling setup) can potentially develop leaks, but the chances are minimal if you don't stress the tubing during installation.

My i7 370K is overclocked to 4.6 GHz running well on gaming applications with a CM Hyper 212 EVO heatsink!

Water cooling will work better and yield lower temps, but along with it come risks of water leaks. Not 'IF' but 'WHEN'.

Try your AMD 8350 with the stock heatsink installed using Arctic Silver 5 (or equal or better) applied per instructions on their website. Check temps with moderate OC. If gaming temps are below 70 degs. C leave things as-is. If not, consider the CM Hyper 212 EVO.

lol, I know man, but if you got one and made sure the thing didn't sprang any leaks, it would make you so happy and proud.
