System:
Biostar T55B HD
4GB DDR3
GPU= GT630
LGA 1156 i7 lynnfield CPU
PSU = Seasonic 560w gold

I can do almost anything on this system and it runs smoothly and quickly. However, the CPU and the GPU are both new additions. If I run the CPU on my old radeaon gpu I have no issues, and no gaming ability. So I also upgraded GPU in order to play games. Now, if I try to play bioshock2 through steam with directx10, the game will load and just at the point where I can move the character, the whole computer will shut down. If i try to run a microsoft experience bench mark on my system, it will almost always reach the end and suddenly shut down. So, every forum I've read says that this is caused by 1 of 2 possible issues. Either over heating, which it isn't. I've monitored the heat on bot the cpu and gpu. Neither get above normal ranges. Or possibly power supply. Which I'd be confused about because, I can run multiple other games at highest resolution without even so much as a hiccup or lag. So, if power to the card was an issue during game play, wouldn't those other games also shutdown the computer? Why is it only specific things? Bad GPU? nope, ran out and bought another card of similar specs as the GT630, but made by radeon and got the EXACT same results as the GT630... So what else could it be? I'm completely out of ideas...

Do a clean driver reinstall. Go into control panel>uninstall a program and get rid of anything with geforce or nvidia in the name. If you upgraded from amd then get rid of anything ati and amd also. Restart your computer. Go to nvidias website and get the latest drivers.

thanks for the reply. I did a clean install by uninstalling divers, as you suggested, and ran ccleaner, still having the same problem. could a faulty cpu be the problem, or snother system driver, ie; detectx?
