innstall windows 8.1 64bit and not 32bit

I bought windows 8,1 via my university. And the downloadlink stated that it was a multiple version with 32bit and 64bit.
ThHe download gave me a windows 8 setup program, which seemed very nice, i could choose my usb stick and it downloaded windows on it, made it bootable, and the clean install went very smooth.

However, the version was 32bit, and i rather had the 64bit version installed.
On what point of the windows 8.1 setup can i choose to install the 64bit version?

Is your hardware capable of supporting 64 bit?
  2. Yes, the hardware does support x64.

I managed to solve the problem. I downloaded windows again with the installer on a pc with x64 installed. And now it was the x64 version.

I also faced the same problem but i have not managed to solve yet; so should I also re download on a 64bit system? As i installed windows 8.1 pro on my new computer and it is 32bit... Also are we meant to deactivate the product key first or what? Sorry for all these questions but i really need 64bit version :(
