I have tried to follow the same tips on multiple forums (fora?)
I have a laptop and a desktop both XP both connecting to the same network both using the same wireless device. When the router was changed the desktop no longer connected but the laptop continued to function. The encryption key consists of numeric characters, no case sensitive issues there.
Desktop keeps trying to connect to neighbour's router ("wrong guy") instead of "good guy".
"Choose a wireless network" is useless, as If I actively try to connect to "good guy" it tries to connect to "wrong guy" incessantly at the same time.
There are no controls on this form to remove or delete unwanted connections, just the "connect" or "disconnect" default button = useless.
The advanced settings wireless networks tab is just as useless. I only have "good guy" on that list (removed the others) but it keeps trying to connect to "wrong guy" in spite of the properrties being set to one dedicated connection.
I have been to the registry and have deleted the binary file and the stupid microsoft product still aims at wrong guy
