I've been running my current setup for about a year. I'm no expert on cooling, so forgive me if I say anything silly. I have a major issue with dust buildup on the filters and the back panels, I think my case is sucking out a lot more air than it's pulling in but I have no idea. I have yet to mount a side fan because my current CPU cooler is just too big to fit a standard 120mm x 25mm fan. However, I recently discovered Scythe's line of 120mm x 12mm fans and think it'll do the trick.
My main goal for the fan is reducing dust build-up: should I mount it to push air out of the case or pull air in? What size fan should I buy--they come in four sizes:
Model / RPM / Db / CFM
SY1212SL12SL 800±25% 19.53 19.40
SY1212SL12L 1200±10% 21.71 24.03
SY1212SL12M 1600±10% 28.89 38.05
SY1212SL12H 2000±10% 33.67 45.47
The H model is out of the question as the PC sits in my living room and noise is an issue.
