pc wont boot when hdd is connected

i just installed win8.1 on an ssd and now when i boot i cant have my hdd connected.
my ssd is an kingston v300 120gb and it still has 30 gb free(have installed bf4 and some steam games) and my Hdd is an samsung hd642jj.

was the hard drive plugged in when you installed windows if you did the system restore and some boot files may be on the hard drive. also check to see that your hard drive on the intel or amd sata ports and not 3 party sata ports. also in the bios make sure the sata ports set to achi mode not ide or raid.
