Hell0 guys, This is my first thead. I was wondering if my 212+ is cooling right, I have a 6350 that gets to 60c+ at 4.1 Ghz and undervolted by .025. I've reseated the sink twice but i get the same effect. It seems that my cpu doesn't like prime very much because i can game using 70-80% of the cpu and only get to 47c, But when the game loads maps it jumps to 56c sometimes. Wondering if i may need a new cooler.

My set-up.

Motherboard: 990FXA-ud3
Ram: 8 Gigs corsair vengence
Video card: GTX 560(non-ti)

But i've overclocked to 4.2Ghz with stock voltage and 5 mins later i caught it at 74c which really freaked me out.

I hear at that speed it still shouldn't be that bad at stock volts.

No cores fail under prime, Just the heat issue is really bothering me. Even then, Could it still just be a bad batch CPU?

Yeah i use coretemp, When i use prime95 its goes from 26c idle to 55c in a matter of about 10 seconds and just keeps climbing there after.

I'm having to undervolt to run games comfortably.

its an old case, still have to mount the power supply on the top of it, I have two small fans in the front moving air and one medium sized in the back. I think i just need another case because i can take the side panel off and have a desk fan blowing on it and its awesome, 48c under prime max and 23c idle.

I think you're right blackbird, I took the side panel off and set a desk fan right next to the sink and it stayed nice and cool. Time to get a better case! Thanks guys i appreciate the help.
