I recently purchased an http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-b85mg and after finally getting all the parts here and ready to be installed, I cannot for the life of me get the motherboard to sit in the case correctly. The case is a http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cougar-case-solution.

The case itself only came with 2 brass risers, and when I place them in the appropriate holes inside the case, the motherboard will not lay flat enough for it to lock in place with the metal plate that matches up with all my USB/HDMI cable ports.

Sorry if this isn't the correct forum for this, i'm just at my whits end with this case.

I should mention that even without the metal plate (which is clearly not how this should be installed) only having 2 rises is allowing my motherboard to teeter in a way that does NOT seem correct.

Please help QQ

Yes they stamped the tray for most of the stand off you will need.
The other holes are marked for ATX or MATX motherboards.
You Add the standoffs to the ones mark for you motherboard format only that are not raised up.
I think you have MATX.

I don't think this case comes with more than two standoffs (which is crazy). You will need to find more standoffs if you want to assemble you PC properly. I would go to a local PC shop and see if you can purchase some standoff / screws from them.

It seems to me that the standoffs are too big. When I put it all together, the standoffs cause the motherboard to not properly fit into the plate in the back. Are there shorter standoffs I can buy?

First of all, it's strange that the case doesn't come with more standoffs. Maybe they neglected to put them in the box at the factory or you got the wrong ones. The reason I suggested you buy some at a local store is I used to work at a mom & pop PC store and we had oodles of them laying around. If you came into my store, I would have just given you some.

Okay, so built into the case beneath where my motherboard will lay, there are risen parts that are made of (what appears to be) the same material as my case. Is that what you mean by built in risers?

One not, on those built in risers (again, they are the same material as the case) there are holes where I can screw in the 2 additional brass risers that were provided to me. If I just let my motherboard rest of those metal pieces built into the case, the motherboard is fitting into the back panel fine. Once I introduce the brass risers into those metal pieces however, I'm not able to make it fit.

Thanks guys. If you need me to upload a picture of it, I can do that.
